Professor Dr. Aminul Islam was a distinguished academician and visionary leader in higher education in Bangladesh. As the founding Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University (2002–2011) and former Vice Chancellor of National University (1996–2000), he played a transformative role in shaping modern university education in the country. A renowned soil scientist, he earned his Ph.D. in Soil Science from Michigan State University, USA. Dr. Islam served the University of Dhaka for decades, mentoring numerous postgraduate scholars and publishing over 130 research articles. He held key leadership positions in scientific and academic societies, including the Bangladesh Academy of Sciences and the Bangladesh Association for Advancement of Science. He was honored with multiple national awards, including the Independence Day Gold Medal in 1990. His lifelong dedication to education, research, and institutional development remains an enduring legacy.
Professor Dr. M. Lutfar Rahman, Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University (DIU) for two tenures, 2011 - 2015 and 2021 - 2025, is a distinguished academic and a pioneer in Digital Systems and computer education in Bangladesh. He is also Emeritus Professor of the university. He was the founding Vice Chancellor of Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur, and the founding Chairman of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Dhaka. Dr. Rahman holds B.Sc. (Hons) and M.Sc. degrees in Physics from Rajshahi University and M.Sc. and Ph.D. in Electronic and Electrical Engineering from Loughborough University, England. With experience in teaching and research both locally and internationally, he has published over 200 research papers, over 100 scientific and technical articles and authored 17 books on Electronics, Computers and Electronic Communications. He has served in various national and international academic and technology committees and was President of Bangladesh Electronics and Informatics Society (2010–2017). He is the founder chairman of Haji Fahimudden Ahmed Foundation at Pirganj, Rangpur. He is Honorary Member of Bangladesh Accreditation Council and Honorary Advisor for South and South East Asia to OIC - COMSTECH.
Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam is a visionary academician and former Vice Chancellor of Daffodil International University. Educated in the UK, he earned his Ph.D. in Engineering from Strathclyde University as a Commonwealth Scholar and later completed a second Master’s in Instructional Design Technology from Open University Malaysia. He has held pioneering academic roles, including Founding Vice Chancellor of Metropolitan University and Founding Chair of CSE at BRAC University. Dr. Islam introduced innovative teaching methodologies such as blended learning, interactive television for distance education, and social media-based learning strategies. His work has earned multiple international project grants and adjunct professorships. A strong advocate for participatory learning and institutional development, he has transformed educational practices at multiple institutions in Bangladesh. He has authored widely read tafseer columns and belongs to a family of distinguished scholars, further enriching his legacy in academia and educational leadership.
